1. The Journey Begins

Therapy that moves.

Dr. Beth Lucchi, LCSW, BC-DMT, is a licensed clinical social worker and board-certified dance/movement therapist with more than 35 years of experience. Her Portland practice, Well Dancer, blends talk therapy with movement, and she wanted a website that felt the same way: warm, grounded, and alive.

We designed and built welldancer.life from the ground up, translating the language of dance/movement therapy into a calm, flowing web experience that invites visitors to slow down, feel welcome, and take the first step toward care.

2. Style Guide

Grounded. Warm. Alive.

The palette comes straight from Beth’s logo: terracotta for the dancer, sage for the leaves that hold her, and a deep moss for contrast. Soft paper and mist neutrals keep the pages calm, and a pale golden glow lights the thread that runs through the site.

3. Creative Direction

One thread. One story.

The heart of the design is a single glowing line that dances down the page as you scroll, drawing itself section by section, arching over headings, slipping behind photos, and leading visitors from a first hello to booking a consultation.

Copy fades and wipes into place in step with the line, so the whole page moves the way Beth’s work does: gently, intentionally, and at the visitor’s own pace. For anyone who prefers less motion, everything settles into place automatically.

The Roadmap

A carefully choreographed journey

Every section is a deliberate step in a well-defined story, guiding visitors from their first hello to booking a consultation, at a pace that feels safe and welcoming.

  1. 01ArriveA joyful hero where the thread first draws itself in, and the copy and logo fade in alongside it.
  2. 02Listen“Your body has been listening all along” introduces the approach: Notice, Regulate, Reconnect.
  3. 03MoveDance/movement therapy, on a deep moss background where the thread glows brightest.
  4. 04ChooseSix ways to work together, with the thread weaving behind the service cards.
  5. 05BeginThree clear steps from free consultation to a personal plan.
  6. 06MeetBeth’s story and credentials, so visitors know exactly who they’ll be working with.
  7. 07GatherWomen’s weekends, with the logo watermark gliding in as you scroll.
  8. 08PlanTransparent fees and insurance, signed with a hand-drawn heart.
  9. 09Reach outA sun rises over the consultation form, with crisis resources always one glance away.

4. Imagery & Art Direction

Curated. Retouched. Intentional.

Every image was chosen to feel human and hopeful, then refined to fit the story. We extended a building to calm a blown-out sky, softened a gesture that read the wrong way, and moved a lone figure on the water so it sits beneath the headline. A subtle sage-to-terracotta tint ties the final scene to the brand.

Custom line art carries the brand into the details: a rising sun above the contact form, a heart traced across the fees section, and the logo itself as a soft watermark over the Women’s Weekends retreat.

5. The Client Account Area

Private by design.

A dedicated client portal gives existing clients a calm, on-brand place to sign in, with a full password-reset flow and a clear path for new visitors to book a free consultation. Because this is a therapy practice, privacy was built in from the start: forms never ask for health details, and crisis resources appear wherever someone might reach out.

6. Mobile-Ready

Every screen. Every step.

Many people first look for a therapist on their phone, often late at night. Every section of welldancer.life was designed and tested for small screens: layouts stack cleanly, text stays easy to read over photography, the menu opens into a simple full-screen list, and a back-to-top button is always within reach.

7. Under the Hood

Beautiful, and built to last.

Client-Editable

Built in Elementor Pro with reusable section templates, so Beth can update text, photos, and pricing herself.

Motion With Care

Scroll-linked animation that respects each visitor’s reduced-motion setting.

Accessible

Keyboard-friendly navigation, descriptive alt text, and readable contrast throughout.

Fast

Every image optimized to WebP, about a third lighter than the originals.

Privacy-Minded

No health details collected online, and the 988 crisis line on every page.

Built to Grow

A modular design system ready for new pages, retreats, and services.

Client Love

Working with Molly Gregg and Digital 9 Designs felt like working with a creative partner who truly understood what I do. As a dance/movement therapist, I wanted a website that felt like movement, and Molly found a way to show it, from the golden thread that flows down the page to the hand-drawn details. She listened carefully, answered every question quickly, and handled each round of feedback with patience and good humor. She also thought about things I hadn’t, like how the site would feel on a phone, how to protect my clients’ privacy, and how I could keep it updated myself. I couldn’t be happier with my website, and I’d recommend Molly and her team to anyone in the dance/movement therapy community.
